Barbara Thompson Memorial Concert
Such an honour to be performing as part of this very special Memorial Concert for saxophonist, composer and band leader Barbara Thompson MBE
at Union Chapel on 2nd June.
I remember the first time I saw Barbara performing on stage with her band Paraphernalia and husband Jon Hiseman on drums…I was absolutely blown away! Seeing an amazing saxophonist leading her own band of incredible musicians was just so inspiring. The fact that her and Jon were a husband and wife saxophonist and drummer team also really struck a chord for me too (now being married to a drummer). It is without a shadow of a doubt that this positive influence shaped my life decisions and ultimately enabled me to realise the kind of life I wanted to lead. I will be forever grateful for that. To perform alongside this all-star line up really is going to be something very special indeed. Of course, I’d love you all to be there to experience this with me.
